How can I edit a registry remotely? I know the LOCALMACHINE registry hive is stored under the system32/config/system file. Perhaps it is still not booting as the registry entries current controlset1, 2, 3 etc are still missing. Perhaps it won't boot because the file also needs to be registered in this broken partition I now only have remote access to. I have restored nvraid.*** in system32 on the affected partition but it still won't boot. I cannot just run a restore from within driver sweeper, (as it has now been started from within my 2nd windows partition, ((my 1st doesn't boot)) and the drive letters are reversed, C is now D, D is now C, etc). LOCALMACHINE/SYSTEM/Currentcontrolset3 etc The chipset driver deleted was 1 file: nvraid.*** and 6 registry entries: (funny how driver sweeper doesn't give an extra warning).Īnyhow I managed to read the log of driversweeper by locating it by booting from my second partition. The problem is that I deleted the chipset aswell. Windows always has that generic video driver to fall back on that Laykun correctly mentioned. In driver sweeper I deleted Nvidia chipset, driver and physics files.ĭriver and physics are not the issue. ![]() I have identified the problem exactly but I still need help:
